BUCYRUS, OH - A long time landmark of Bucyrus has had new life breathed into it, and that is the Bucyrus Theatre.
"We wanted to do something to the building before the Bratwurst Festival, and that is why we are here today", said Joe Armbruster.
"What is really interesting is that there is still one piece of the original stained glass in the marquee, the rest is plastic. That is where the light shines through to let you know what movie is playing" said Mike Eagleston of Eagleston Signs.
"I am not sure if they are going to ask me to give a bid to replace the plastic, or to replace with the original stained glass, that is up to them", Mike also said.
Joe Armbruster told me that Mike had crawled through one of the windows to get out onto the marquee. Joe and Mike both told me that they were amazed has to how solidly built the marquee is. The supports go to the turnbuckles, through the wall, and attach to the roof trusses. "If the marquee were to fall down, it would pull the whole front of the building down with it", said Joe Armbruster.
Also, according to Joe and Mike, there was no flexing at all in the marquee.
