On October 5, 2008 the Bucyrus First Church of the Nazarene along with congregations across the world celebrated 100 years of Holiness for the Church of the Nazarene.
The Church of the Nazarene is a global family. On this day the Centennial Celebration took place across 24 time zones in every local church.  Bucyrus First Church was a part of that celebration with music from the Celebration Choir lead by Pastor Keith Showalter, Heritage Award Presentation, and a message given by Pastor Ray LaSalle.  Many were in attendance for the service under the tent as a reminder of those tent services of days gone by.  The day began with an "Old Fashioned" Sunday School Hour for everyone at 9:00 a.m. and then a combined morning worship service at 10:30.  A Communion Service was also held the morning of the service.  Following the service a meal was provided in the Family Life Center for all in attendance.
Following the meal at 1:30 a special celebration was held for the Bucyrus Church of the Nazarene 75th Anniversary.  Special music was presented by the Celebration Choir, Teen Choir, and youth choir.  Special presentation was given for the 50 year members of the Bucyrus First Church of the Nazarene.
For myself and my husband Doug this brought back a lot of memories for us.  We were married in the church in 1982 by Pastor Melvin Thompson, and our children were born and raised in the church.  We have many fond memories of the Bucyrus Nazarene Church and look forward to many more memories to come.
Congratulations Bucyrus First Church of the Nazarene on your 75th Anniversary.  May God richly bless the church, the Pastor's and the many ministries of the church.
