Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District Photo Contest
2008 Photo Contest Rules and Categories
The Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors invites amateur photographers to enter their 2008 Photography Contest.
Who is Eligible?
The competition is open to all non-professional photographers. The photos must be taken at a location in Crawford County; however the photographer does not have to reside in the county. You are considered a non-professional if you do not earn, or have not earned the majority of your living from photography.
Entry and Judging:
We will accept color or black and white prints. Prints may not exceed 8x10 inches in size, and be no smaller than 4x6 inches. Digital photos must be submitted as prints. There will be no entry fee and you may enter your work in any of the categories offered. Choose what you feel is the appropriate category for your print. A single print may only be submitted in one category. You may submit up to five total prints. Photos may not be digitally enhanced. Photos must be taken within the boundaries of Crawford County.
Please Note the Judging Format:
First Round:
Entries will be judged to determine appropriate category entry and to select the top three (3) winners in each topic category. First round judges reserve the right to switch prints to a more appropriate category or to disqualify if the entry is not suitable for any category.
Second Round:
All entries will be displayed at the Crawford SWCD Annual Meeting scheduled to be held on Tuesday September 9, 2008 at Crawford County Fair Grounds, Youth Building, Bucyrus, OH. Participants need not be present to win. Attendees at the Annual Meeting will vote for the 1st place winners by secret ballot from the top three choices in each category, chosen by the first round judges. The winners will be announced before the closing of the meeting.
Entry Forms:
Multiple entries can be made to the same category; however a picture may only be entered in one category. Each photo must be accompanied by one completed entry form. Please attach the entry form to the back of your print.
Conservation Topic Categories:
Adult Division (18 years and older)

2) Nature and Wildlife
3) Scenic Crawford County
Youth Division (17 years or younger)
1) Agriculture and Livestock
2) Nature and Wildlife
3) Scenic Crawford County
Scoring Criteria
The judging will be based on relevance to conservation, creativity, photographic quality and impact. Please place the entry form on the back of the print.
Awards
The awards will be $25.00 in cash or a gift card. We will award the top photo in each of the three adult and youth division categories.
Use of Prints by the Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District
We will not be returning submitted photos, therefore, do not submit negatives. All entrants agree that any photograph they submit to the photo competition may be used for marketing and promotion purposes directly related to the mission of the District.

All photos and entry forms must be submitted to the Crawford Soil and Water Conservation District Office 3111 State Route 98, Bucyrus, Ohio 44820, by 4:30PM on Wednesday September 3, 2008.
