NEW WASHINGTON, OH  -  Last Spring,  Buckeye Central witnessed another sudden loss of one of their student body.  Mike Fike was a member of the football and track teams, plus he was crowned Winter Homecoming King.
Parents Night was also part of opening night of High School football at Buckeye Central.  Then immediately following all of the introductions, a special memorial ceremony was given to honor Mike Fike.
Mike was a member of the football and track teams at Buckeye Central.  His parents, Mark and Cathy along with his brother Aaron, were at the game to dedicate the "Mike Fike Strongman Award".  The award was presented by Mike's friend and teammates Zach Faeth and Josh Hoffbauer.  The award will forever oversee the weight room at Buckeye Central, where Mike loved to workout at.  The award will be presented each year to the most dedicated weightlifter on the football team.
To further memorialize Mike, the football team will be wearing a #12 sticker on their helmets.  It will also be joined with a WS sticker, to memorialize William Shaeffer, who also passed away last Spring.  William was a member of the Buckeye Central Chain Crew for over 20 years.
