As visitors wind their way down the highway in anticipation of the harvest season, there is evidence that fall is in the air. The trees are changing from shades of green to vivid plotches of oranges, yellows and reds. As they get closer they can almost hear the bluegrass music being carried through the air and they can almost taste fall treats like kettle corn, apple cider, fresh corn on the cob and apple fritters.
For the past twenty years the Prairie Peddler Festival has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors from across the Midwest to enjoy all that there is to see and do in this old fashioned setting.  It has become a tradition for many as they leave behind the fast pace of the world around them and escape to a peaceful setting where one can relive days gone by while shopping, enjoying a variety of entertainment and sampling delicious foods of
all kinds. It is common to hear from our visitors that the Prairie Peddler was a family favorite when they were young and now with their own families they are continuing this one of a kind experience. Known for attracting some of the finest crafters in the Midwest, the festival will once again feature artists with a wide variety of products that reflect their individual talents. Why do artists and craftsmen continue to come back year after year? In addition to the cherished memories and lasting friendships that have been woven into their
hearts forever, the crafters enjoy the ambience of the festival as well as the opportunity to showcase what they do best. Customers love the opportunity to purchase something made by hand and meet the artist who created it. Visitors come back again every year to see what is new and often they bring friends who are delighted to experience the event for the first time. If you are looking for something unique you won't be disappointed! Most all the booths feature original designs and many items at the show can be personalized for that special touch.
Over the years the festival has had some truly unique craftsmen who have come from all walks of life. Whether they do this as a profitable hobby, just to supplement their income, as a full time job, or just for the fun of it, all of our crafters share a common bond. This has become a great outlet for their creativity.
The festival also features great entertainment.  Once again we are pleased to have Charles Steinman back who always pleases the crowd with his fancy fiddlin' as well as magician, Jania Taylor, the unmistakable country sound of Southern Grace and the unique musical style of the Back Porch Swing Band. Also back by popular demand we welcome Mark Abbati, the living cowboy statue. Once you see him you won't ever forget the encounter. There is always something new at the Prairie Peddler Festival and this year
we welcome Copus Hill, Logan Wells and Tim Tucker and the Muddy Krick Mountain Boys to our line up. Check out all the events and times for performances on page 6 for a complete listing.
As always, the food is great and there is something for everyone's taste. From breakfast to dinner, we have a wide variety to choose from. Come early and stay late. At the Prairie Peddler Festival there is plenty to see and do and remember that a trip to Prairie Peddler is like visiting a friend, you are always welcome.
